Dino Diggers

Our first few days of Spring Break were spent in Mesquite, NV and surrounding desert (that post is here now, because man, I had a lot of pictures to sort through!), but we had a whole Thursday (April 4th) open that we decided to fill with friends and cousins and aunts/sisters at the dinosaur park in Ogden.  Last year I bought a year pass when it was on sale in March and as the expiration date of that pass came closer I kept looking for another sale to pop up to snag it again for cheap.  I was prepared on this visit to just pay the full price for the membership (it's totally worth it for unlimited access to the dino park, plus weekday visits to the train museum, the nature center and tracey aviary in SLC), but I was happily surprised to see that they were offering a one day only sale the very day we were there!  YES!

My good friend Christine brought her kiddos (Zachy and Timmy) from Logan, and Heather and Grace brought Kylie from Hyrum, and we had a blast exploring the inside displays and especially the outside statues and playground.  Sam has been really into dinosaurs lately (we check out a dino-related book pretty much every week), so it was fun to see him recognize and name some of them on his own.  (Man, he's come a long way from our first visit last year, when he gripped my neck so tight from fright that I thought I'd never get him off me!)  It even warmed up enough (once the canyon winds stopped and we found a nice sheltered table) for a picnic lunch outside.  Such a fun morning!

Grace kept telling her mom she was going to climb on a dinosaur
at the park (she's never been here and Heather wasn't sure if that
was even legal) so she was overjoyed to find plenty of dinos
to climb and play on in the playground area.

Zachy and Timmy joined Callie on the triceratops scull.

There's one of our whole group!

Grace was so excited to see a "stregasaurus"
(she's been reading Tomie dePaola a lot lately,
it would seem ;).

Say hi to two of the cutest and "scariest" dinos in the park
(with completely unintentional matching shirts, no less).
