Antelope Island Outing

On Saturday, October 20th, Grandpa and Grandma Blanchard invited us to explore Antelope Island with them and Aggie.  We met up after Sam's nap at the visitor's center and then, on the suggestion of the ranger at the desk, checked out the fun little Buffalo Point Trail.  It was a short climb to the top of a ridge with awesome views of the lake and the mountains in all directions.  There were lots of little rocky cliffs and hills to climb on - the kids loved it!  It was the perfect temperature to be outside and we didn't have to deal with any mosquitoes!  After we had our fill of the top of the hill, we hopped in our cars and met up again in Roy at the Burger Bar. Since they moved to West Haven a couple months ago, Paul has become a big fan of the place, and we all wanted to try it out.  Wow!  It was delicious!  The burgers were HUGE and we got so. many. fries!  Such a fun little Saturday outing!

Visiting the buffalo in the visitor's center.

Lots of fun statues to pose by.

This one is a buffalo with buffalo shaped holes cut into its side.

Group shot on the way up the trail.

I told them to strike a pose.  :D

Where does she get this from?

Blanchard boys.

And the girls.

And the fam.

These may all look exactly the same to you, but they're kind
of funny when you zoom in on their faces!

Sam got to help feed Aggie while we waited for
our grub.

Hard to really tell, but the sunset on those eastern
mountains was SO pink!

  1. I need to go back to Antelope Island. Last time I was there was to count plants in small quadrats while keeping an eye out for bison. And slapping lots of mosquitos. This looks like a much more fun trip.
