Photos from Phones - April 2015 Round Up

Oh, April.  What a month.  The days were lovely (if not windy) and we spent a lot of time on walks (as usual).  Oh, and we moved!  But there will be a separate post about that, so stay tuned.  For now, enjoy this (huge) slew of photos - guess I was on a roll this month!

4.3.15
(the day before this was a puddle on the bike path that Cal was
splashing rocks and sticks into - the power of evaporation!)

(Gregg's last ski day of the season at Beaver Creek)

4.5.15
(lemon cream cheese sweet rolls for conference morning)

4.20.15
(outside the office while I was taking care of paperwork after our ultrasound,
Cal was entertaining herself - and Dad - with her alphabet skills)

(first things first - well, after grocery shopping that morning,
but I have my priorities!)

4.27.15
(and Cal's priorities involve the park)

4.28.15
(ready for her first spin around our new block)

4.28.15
(a lot more psyched about it than the first - and

4.29.15
(she's really diggin' the helmet - she begged to put
it on, just so she could play in the grass)

4.30.15
(I was worried I'd miss all the blossoms this spring
since they were blooming early in Utah but I knew
they wouldn't pop before May in Colorado.  Luckily
they're still here and lovely as ever!)

4.30.15
(and this time we took a different fork that led
us close to the water)

(we saw pelicans - they're the white specks near the shore toward
the left of the photo - and two osprey!)

Photos from Phones - March 2015 Round Up

March is gone already?  How did that happen?  It was a good month, minus the fact that it started out with us all being sick - Cal especially.  But once that first week was behind us, we quite enjoyed ourselves.  Note a gap in photos around a specific day?  That was my birthday and I already blogged about it here, in case you missed it.  The rest of our month was a lot of the same - spending as much time outside as we can (Cal especially loves to go outside these days - there is so much to touch and pick up and stash away in pockets out there!) and cooking together in the kitchen (Cal is a great little kitchen side-kick and is pretty much the cutest thing in an apron this side of the Mississip).  Toward the end of the month we got to take a couple short road trips: first to Frisco, where Gregg was moderating a panel at a little conference, and Cal and I wandered around Frisco, exploring the bike path and the library while we waited for him to finish.  Next, to Rifle, to visit my brother, Nate, and his wife, Shelly, and their baby, Evelyn, as well as my parents who were visiting them.  Callie and I had fun exploring Rifle Falls State Park again and hanging out with the fam for the day.  Good times all month.

3.1.15
(we knew she wasn't feeling well when she fell asleep in my
arms without any effort on my part whatsoever)

3.1.15
(poor baby)

3.10.15
(she's a great little helper in the kitchen)

3.13.15
(especially if she gets to "stir stir stir" and then "yick a beater"
or, in this case, a spoon)

3.13.15

3.13.15

3.13.15
(a little post-stirring apron modeling for dad -
I really need to get her one her own size!)

3.14.15
(morning stories with dad)

3.14.15
(our first "hike" of the season!)

3.14.15
(it included a lot of views of this on our way back)

3.14.15

3.14.15
(so happy with the realization that pockets are handy for storing
rocks!)

3.17.15
(miss independent these days - no more strolling
home from the park for this one)

3.17.15

3.17.15

3.17.15
(sorry - I just love clouds, what can I say?)

3.20.15
(this may not look convenient, but actually, it's a little trick
I use to get her to move a little faster than she otherwise
would on our walk back home.  she's happy, I'm happy.
win, win.)

3.21.15
(at her own pace)

3.24.15
(making lemon poppy seed bundt cake for the relief society
birthday party.  it was the bomb, by the way)

3.24.15
(these lemons came from a lady in our ward from her tree at
her house in arizona.  they were huge and super juicy!)

3.27.15
(frisco, co bike path views)

3.27.15
(exploring at the frisco library - cal loved these
huge stuffed animals and the stairs they sat on)

3.27.15
(more frisco - beautiful day)

3.27.15
(dinner thanks to a birthday giftcard at smashburger and look
who we saw in the paper while we were there!)

3.31.15
(rifle falls state park with gwama and gwampa elwood)

3.31.15
(hangin' with Cousin Ev - they're obviously thrilled to be together)

3.31.15
(there's the smiles!)

"Happy Birthday So Fun"

This week I celebrated the big 3-0 birthday.  In style.  Well, in pregnant-mom-of-a-toddler style anyway.  Here are a few photos of our festivities.  First up, the actual birthday:

Park visit 1 of 2 today.  Lots of rocks to put in those trucks and
dump back out!

The dump truck is good for other things, too -
line pinecones.

Hanging out in her "fort" (aka under the slide
platform).  I told her to smile and I got this face.
Again.  (She must be related to her mother
with the blinking eyes in pictures thing.)

Dinner at Fiestas!
Hello?  Hello?  Anybody there?

Waiting for dinner - a triple combo plate with a chicken
taquito, shrimp (what I ordered, but ended up getting spinach)
enchilada, and chile rello for me, and a chicken fried steak
smothered in chile sauce and cheese with rice and beans
on the side for Gregg.  Cal helped.  And we got free fried ice
cream for dessert!  What a feast!

Getting ready to pay.

Home again and time for presents.

Here's bundt pan 1 of 2 this birthday.  I'm set
for any and all bundt pan needs!

Cal took over after they were opened, lining
everything up, then stacking the pans/colander,
and then lining them up again.  "So hebby"
(ie "so heavy").

A cute new maternity shirt from my mom.

Fast forward half a week to Sunday, when we had a fun Sunday afternoon visit from Nate and Shelly and Evelyn:

Story time with Uncle Nate.

Finally warming up to the "scary" baby (with the help of Dad).

Knuckles!

Yay!

Singing  The Eensy Weensy Spider for Ev.

And now it's time for a little "Cwinkle Cwinkle
Yittle Star" action.  She eventually decided that
Ev wasn't so bad to have around, as long as Dad
was within touching distance of Cal at all times.

Cake time!  Notice the bundt?  Ah, yeah.  (P.S. It was delicious!)

Cal loved the "Happy Birthday" singing.  Later, while we were
eating our cake she kept saying "Happy Birthday so fun!"

Make a wish.

Yay!

Sibling baby swap.
