We woke up to snow on our first morning in Connecticut and it set the tone for the rest of our day. Think pjs and books and blankets and soup and chillaxing. Cohen and Melia had school and Laurel and Bret had a few meetings, so we hung out with ourselves and made ourselves cozy. We did venture out mid-day for a quick dollar store shopping spree to get supplies for Sam's costume. When the kids got home from school, the sun started to peek out, so everyone went out to play in the snow and get a tour of the property. And then it was time for warm showers and jammies (again) and pizza and a movie (aka Great British Baking Show episode) night! Bret is a master pizza dough maker and Laurel decorated deliciously - we had a feast of five different flavors . . . and there wasn't anything left by the time we were finished!
Bret got this for his birthday and shared it with me - it was absolutely delightful and the art is fantastic! It reminds me a lot of David Small and Calvin and Hobbes. Definitely check it out! |

Our drive (into Mass, they live a mile from the border) for poster board and wrapping paper and tape was stunning in the snow! |
Back up the driveway to the house. |

It's time to play in the snow! |
I love the contrast of fall leaves and winter white at the same time. Made my heart so happy. |
They cut down this giant tree earlier this fall and Cal thought it made a good balance beam. |
I walked to the end of their lane and back. If I lived there, I wouldn't have to go anywhere else for walks! |
A taste of farm life for the kiddos - Melia helped them gather eggs! |
Thanks Rusty, Dusty and Cinnamon! |
Pizza team extraoridnares! |
