Ever since
last year's successful
Ogden Valley Children's Business Fair, Cal has been planning what she would make and sell this year. Luckily, they held it again, and she was in business on May 13th! Sam was convinced he wanted to give it a go, too. They each spent time making posters, planning pricing, making product, and selling their wares all by themselves. I was so proud of them for stepping up to the challenge. And they each earned at least $25 in profit (thanks to some very generous shoppers and grandparents). A success again! (And yes, they are already brainstorming for next year, so mark your calendars to make a visit to their stand again next May!)

Sam's Root Beer stand. (He was sniffly and a bit coughy that morning, so we made him wear a mask and gloves while he sold his drink.) |

Cal's stand was called The Ultimate Miniature Donut and she had two kinds of chocolate glazed donuts (chocolate and vanilla) with two kinds of toppings (sprinkles or no) bagged into groups of three. She worked hard on her pricing structure and discounts and learned a lot about profit margins. |

The fair was huge this year! And luckily no rain, but a bit gusty at times. |
|
Tween and teen boys liked both the donuts and root beer stands, go figure. |

Grandparents were very supportive customers! |

Money counting time! |

This is how much they each earned on venmo, which was in addition to any cash payments they got. |
