Cal was so excited for her birthday date this year: she planned to go swimming at the Roy Aquatic Center with lunch from Burger King after. Originally we had the party scheduled with Grandma and Grandpa Blanchard on Thursday, June 10th, but the forecast for that day was unseasonably cool and cloudy, which we figured wouldn't make for the best of pool days. So we moved it up to the day before her birthday. Luckily, she was feeling well that day (the day before that she had a fever and was feeling kind of sick), so it all worked out great.
She got to open her presents before they left to the pool: a beautiful white dress for her baptism day, plus a tie-dye kit and shirts, bag and apron to dye with it! (I joked that the dress was nice and white and ready to be dyed, too, but she didn't think that was so funny!)
Then they were off to the pool! She hopped right in, but because of a breeze, quickly became chilled. They didn't last too long there, unfortunately. But all was well once they got their lunch and ate treats back at Grandma and Grandpa's house. And she got to hop in the warm jetted tub to get some water time that didn't freeze her to the bone! Before I came to pick her up, she was also able to mix up some yummy lemon-limeade with Grandma's help. Another fun date with fun grandparents!
