Summer Solitude

One of Gregg's employee perks at Inntopia is to use company credits at various client resorts. For some reason, we never really took advantage of this sweet deal until we went to Jay Peak last year, but we finally saw the light! This year, some credits were going to expire if anyone didn't use them by the end of June, and even though Gregg made sure others had a chance at them first, we got to spend a couple nights (17-19 June) at a condo at Solitude, plus lift tickets to ride to the top of the mountain and play disc golf! The best perk of all: the condo had an awesome pool which was well used by us in our two days.

An evening swim on Thursday night - we had the place
to ourselves for a while!

I forgot to pack picture books for bedtime, but luckily
had checked out this one on libby (because it was the only
version my library had) so we read it on my phone and it
was totally delightful!

Gregg snuck out for a sunset walk around the village.

I spy Sam in the shower!

Friday morning killing time before the ticket office opens
and the lift starts turning.

Waiting in line for a ride up a lift - to play disc golf!

Here's the last hole - a giant 1000+ foot shot off the edge
of a run to the bottom of the hill. Needless to say it took
us a few shots over par to reach the basket!

Lounging and watching tv for some midday quiet time.

(back in the pool - and she's getting braver!)

Another ride up the lift post-swim.

Heather caught us close by via Find My Friends on her phone,
so we invited her and her fam and Mugs (who was staying with her)
to come spend Friday evening at the pool with us.
(This is supposed to be Cal on the slide, but my timing was just
bad enough that she's hidden behind Gregg!)

Grace's turn! (She loved the slide!)

And there's Sam!

We swam, then bought pizza and ate it at the picnic
tables outside the pool area, then came back to swim some
more (and the crowds had thinned out significantly by then).

Saturday morning our car wouldn't start, so while Gregg
was hunting down someone to give him a jump, the kids
and I wandered up a little trail near the village.

And took a tour of the base area.

We hoped to hike at Bloods Lake on Guardsman Pass, but
everyone else in the Salt Lake/Park City area seemed to have
the same idea and we couldn't find a parking space. So we drove on
to another parking area and wandered down some trails near there for a bit.

The flowers were magnificent!

And then it was home again, home again jiggety jog. We could get used to this! What a great little getaway!
