Happy birthday to our dear dad/husband/best guy around! This year we made waffles for breakfast and ate while he opened presents: a coupon book, a zipper for the trailer, a box o' c-clamps, a camp chair, and quixx score cards.
He took the afternoon off work so we could visit Sam's club to purchase some things that the Lantern House was in need of to help the homeless population in Ogden. We stocked up on canned food, mop heads, and more styrofoam take-out containers than we could fit in the car (nearly). After we dropped off our donation at the shelter, we took the kids to the bike park in Riverdale and he tried out the disc golf course next door. It was stinkin' hot, though, so nobody lasted too long in the sun!
We still had time to kill before meeting up with some of the local Blanchards for dinner, so we found ourselves at Fort Buenaventura, in the Weber River, to cool off.
These leaves were so unusual, I just had to snap a pic. |
At dinnertime we met up with Paul and Kim and Heather and Dray at Burger Bar in Roy to order our food, then took it to shady Riverdale Park to eat and play and visit.
Back at home after dinner, we sang and ate Oatmeal Cake with maple nut ice cream for dessert. What a guy! So glad he's ours!
