Birthday Bowling 2023

We love our birthday bowling tradition that works as a good excuse to get both families and lots of Gregg's college friends (and their families) together to celebrate Gregg's and Cal's birthdays in early June. Usually Gregg invites a bunch of his friends and one or two can make it, but this year, everyone was available and came. It was so fun to see them and their growing families and to have fun bowling and then picnicking together. This year, with the threat of rain, we decided to reserve the bowery at the church for our meal. It actually worked perfectly, even when it didn't rain on the party, because there was plenty of table space for food and the kids had a great playground to run around on while the adults chatted.

Cal chose Lemon Blueberry Cake (a la Mel)
but we baked it in two loaf pans and two 8" round
pans, and turned it into a #10. Pretty fancy and pretty tasty!

Gregg did a lot of calculating and sketching
to figured out how to turn a cookie sheet sized
pan of carrot cake into a Christmas Tree Cake.
Here, his genius plan worked and he is clearly
stoked!

We got 8 lanes in the middle of Ben Lomond Lanes
and everyone went wild bowling.

That's a lot of 8s on our first tries.

Two Kim Blanchards, two 80 point scores. Yikes.

Cousins!

Cal picked out these balloons to decorate
the bowery with. There was a 40 for Gregg, too.
