Cal and Gregg have been reading the Hatchet series by Gary Paulsen every night at bedtime for a few months. That, combined with Cal's love of everything outdoor-survivaly and Gregg's 40 before 40 list that was coming to a close soon, led to a quick overnighter backpacking into Middle Fork a couple of miles on 30 - 31 May. They had a blast hiking, exploring, eating, building and sleeping in the woods together.
