The Blanchard Bears and the (Almost) Week at Grandmas' (and Grandpas')

While I was at camp, the kids got to spend a few days and nights with both sets of grandparents. They were completely spoiled and I think everyone had an awesome time!

In my head I had a picture of a Berenstain Bears book from my childhood where the bears were going on vacation and packed tennis rackets and I thought that was so odd because I didn’t know anyone who played tennis on vacation when I was a kid. So I put all the oldies I could find on hold at the library and this is the one! Papa and Mama played tennis on their honeymoon (seen in scrapbook pics) and then pack the rackets again when they head off on their 2nd honeymoon. But Brother and Sister aren’t invited. Instead they get to spend the week with Gramps and Gran. And that’s when their story sounded just like Cal and Sam’s story from their Grandparent Week while I was at girls camp. Loved it. Fun to go down memory lane a bit and find the story is still relevant. (We read a whole marathon of BB books this afternoon, and this was definitely the best of the bunch.)

(Good morning with Grandma! The kids slept over
Tuesday night in West Haven and were greeted
with brand new minecraft t-shirts. Like I said, Spoiled!!
They wore them the entire time they were away from home,
so it's tricky to remember which day is which just by looking
at what they're wearing ;)

6.28.23
(Sam's shirt was a little small, so they made
a stop at walmart to switch it to the right size,
hence the reason he doesn't have it on quite yet.)

6.28.23
(They had a field trip on the Front
Runner between Roy and Ogden, and
they had to pose with this giant shovel
at the Roy station.)

(Gregg picked the kids up from the Blanchards in Ogden on
Thursday afternoon and drove them to Providence for the duration
of the week (Paul loaned Gregg his car so he could get around
to where he needed to go while I had our sube) and I was so dang
happy to get this text from Callie as they were driving between
grandmas'. What a week and it's only been two days!)

(they said it was super hot, but they had fun)

Phew! I wonder who needs the biggest rest after this week of awesomeness . . . the kids or the grandparents? I'm sure grateful Cal and Sam get to have these fun memories with fun grandmas and grandpas. It made me miss them not as much, knowing they were well taken care of and having a great time (and not missing me ;).
