The Blanchherd at Bear Lake {7/18: Beach, Pickleville Playhouse}

Day two of our Blanchherd reunion started with a magnificent sunrise. We all brought our own food for breakfasts and lunches, so we ate when we were hungry and hung around and talked and played and got ready for the day.

I mean . . . come on!

Grandma made goodie bags for
everyone with glow sticks and oreos and
family tee shirts.

Oh! And the kids got gliders to play
with, too.

bonus video!!

Yep, we hung up the hammocks on the deck, too.

Epic ping pong battle!

Tuesday was beach day! We drove up to North Beach and snagged a spot wide enough for two canopies in the middle of the crowd. Bret, fun uncle that he is, had arranged to rent a couple of jet skis for the day, so that was a major highlight for everyone. We also had kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and our air mattress, and of course plenty of sand and a found shovel. We played and played and played.

First timer! Lookin' great!

I spy our group of mismatched canopies in the middle.

Lunchtime in the shade!

Cal was a HUGE fan of the jet skis!
She was on them any chance she could get.

Cal's castle village.

Liz had a whole spa set up.

Sam was digging a major tunnel.

After the beach, we headed back to the house to shower and eat. Gregg figured out dinners for the whole group (papa murphy's the first night) and this night was catered by Cafe Sabor. Tacos and quesadillas and beans and rice . . . for days! Literally. It was super yummy, but we didn't even make a dent the first night and immediately decided to scrap the Hawaiian BBQ planned for the next day and just repeat the Mexican.

After dinner was the theater! We watched Pickleville Playhouse's original melodrama show Thick as Thieves. It was fun to be there all together, and especially fun to sit in front of Herm who was cracking up the whole time. We have a few theater folks in the fam, and they all were loving it.

Another evening, another sunset!

Cal and I snuck out during intermission to walk around
and get a drink and gaze at the sky.

Meeting the actors after the show.

So fun!
