Snow Day

We had a gigantic snow-dumping storm here this week.  It started snowing on Thursday (Jan 30th) in the early a.m. hours and it didn't stop 'til Friday, 24 hours later.  Then it snowed most of the day Friday, too.  Callie and I didn't leave the house during the bulk of the storm on Thursday, but we were getting a little bit of cabin fever by Friday afternoon and ventured out to view the winter wonderland that surrounded us.  Totals reported by resorts around the area were measured in feet.  I'm guessing we got a couple of those (feet) here, too.  It was deep out there!  They even canceled school, which is a pretty rare event in these parts.  I was glad I didn't have anywhere to go and could just sit in my toasty house (by the toasty fire) and watch the fat flakes falling.  Gregg, on the other hand, had to be in Denver for a conference.  Luckily the roads weren't too bad; they weren't too good, either, but he took it slow and made it home and back in one piece.  Anyone want to come ski?  Hooray for snow!

  1. That is crazy deep snow! I'm not sure Callie is too sure of it, but she'll soon come to love it I'm sure. Where do they even pile the snow? I guess you're liking your Subaru. :)

    1. Yeah, she doesn't look too sure about sitting in it, but she liked walking around while it was falling on her face. They pile it anywhere they can, and most of the piles are taller than me because they just had to keep pushing it up. I still haven't been driving in it, but I think Gregg was glad for the all wheel drive on the trek home from Denver.
