Mount Evans Hill Climb

On Saturday, July 26th, at four-something in the morning, Gregg left home with his bike in the back of the Subaru for an epic adventure.  His destination: Mount Evans, elevation 14,130".  And he would be getting there by his trusty bike, starting in Idaho Springs pedaling his way up 6575 feet of elevation in 27.4 miles.  It was the Bob Cook Memorial Mount Evans Hill Climb.

Did he make it?  Oh yes he did!  (Though we don't have a selfie from the top, even though I asked him to take one.  He did snap a couple rather spectacular shots below as proof, however.  So I guess we'll believe him that he was up there on top of the world.)  Actually, he dominated that hill, finishing in 7th place (out of 55) for his age group and 55th (out of 350) overall.  All done in 2 hours, 45 minutes and 59.12 seconds.

Further proof that he not only made it, but rocked that ride up the mountain:
