We celebrated Cal's third and Gregg's thirty-third with our families and friends at our annual Birthday Bowling Bash the Saturday after his and before hers. So, when her actual birthday rolled around, there was no birthday cake or family gathering, but we did have a fun day celebrating our big girl. She woke up and saw her presents on the couch and asked to open them right away. So open them we did.
This is a log. |
It's part of a set of stuffed logs, rocks, sticks, marshmallows and graham crackers that make up a pretend fire set. |
She did not get it at first. She just pulled out "little pillow" after "little pillow". |
"And a turkey without a face!" Still not getting it. Luckily she caught on after I gave her a quick little demo. ;) |
More presents! (I think this one was swim goggles.) |
Rah, Rah Radishes! |
A real fishing pole and tackle box! |
A mini basketball hoop ("for inside and Dad's is for outside"). |
Some assembly required. Plus, fruit snacks! (She ate three packages before breakfast.) |
Just a little reminiscing on instagram of my tiny baby girl three years prior. |
Setting up her birthday pool for some birthday splashing. |
Swimming pool party with Quincy! |
(It wasn't actually a party, just an Activity Days planning meeting for the moms, but the kids got to play and get wet and had a ball.) |
Opening birthday cards from the mail! |
$5 from Great Grandma and Grandpa Elwood! |
And a card from Grandma and Grandpa Elwood, too. |
We walked to dinner (french fries and a quesadilla for her) at Pat's Food Shack and she wouldn't look at the camera for Dad when he wanted to take her pic. |
For dessert we got ice cream cones - she had been so looking forward to these (her first, I think). |
Messy, messy goodness. |
Happy birthday to my girl!
Mmmm...ice cream cones are great summer birthday treats!
