Easter Time is Here

Even though I didn't take too many pictures of our Easter festivities, we had a lovely celebration. The kids picked out a marble egg dye kit (which was really just a regular dye kit that we added vegetable oil to to make the marbled effect) so we dyed marbled eggs for art one evening.

We enjoyed our traditional Elwood family Easter egg hunt at my grandparents' house in Hyde Park. This was the snowiest/soggiest egg hunt in recent memory, but Grandma and the aunts were ready with ziplock baggies for each individual egg so they wouldn't get ruined.

Cal made delicious deviled eggs for us again. This time she tried piping the filling into the egg whites, but I gave her a flimsy plastic bag to use as a piping bag which burst out the side and the tip we tried just got clogged. I think it is possible to do - we just need better equipment next time!

Sam wasn't feeling super swell on Easter morning, so he and Gregg stayed home to watch on zoom while Cal and I went to church. I accompanied the ward choir for their musical number (I Stand All Amazed), which turned out lovely even with our limited practices.

Just to show how snowy it is on Easter!

We read a handful of Easter/Holy Week books during morning time the week before that were great.

We went back to Cache Valley for Easter/Nate's birthday dinner and enjoyed our feast of smoked meats (thanks to Michael for sharing his smoking skills!) and Nate's special Tiramisu for dessert.

Callie worked hard to learn the hymn He is Risen on the piano and played it for everyone in Providence on Sunday and then again later in the week so I could record it for everyone to enjoy. I'm so proud of her perseverance! She had some tricky fingerings and nailed them!
