Twee! Yights!

It's that time of year again - time to hunt for the perfect Christmas tree.  We have loved our tradition of going into the mountains near our house to pick out and saw down a tree to bring home and decorate.  This year was no different as we strapped on our snowshoes to trek up Tigwon Road and find the perfect tree.  Once we got to a good spot that had plenty of trees to choose from, Callie and I waited on the snowpacked road while Gregg tromped around up the hill a little ways.  We're more than happy with the one he picked out for us. I think it's the best one we've ever had!

Gregg did a lot of carrying - he carried Cal
up and then he carried the tree back down.

The biggest smile I could get out of this silly
goose all day.

Looking back from whence we came.

Snowshoein'.

Baby in the snow.

Gregg's up there somewhere.

Of course there is a cloud pic.

Lonely baby in the snow.

He got one!

It's a beaut!

Tough crowd, that Cal.

Very tough.

Not amused, Dad.

Don't let that face fool you - Callie loves our Christmas tree.  She loves to turn the lights on in the morning ("yights!") and she's been pretty good about leaving the decorations alone, though I did find her trying to take a bite from one of the applesauce-cinnamon ornaments one afternoon.  Sometimes when it's quiet I'll find her just sitting there staring up at the "twee."  It's magical, that's for sure.

Ta-da!

Not a bad way to spend an early Saturday morning in December.
