Logan Time

Gregg had some meetings with his company in the home office for a few days mid-February so he rented a car and headed to Colorado.  And the rest of us headed to Logan so I could have some much-needed hands to help me with my little munchkins.  I can - and do - handle them pretty much all by myself pretty much all day long, but man-oh-man I was dreading the evening hours when I'm used to having Gregg there to share the load.  Thankfully my parents and sisters were willing to let us invade their quiet and clean abode for a week of chaos and diapers and toys and giggles.

We had a fun get-together with both sets of my grandparents, all my sisters (and one brother-in-law), and uncle and cousin on Monday for President's Day.  My mom made her delicious egg rolls and we had some yummy curry, too.  And then we made ice cream!

In case you were wondering, Sam is the center of our world these
days.

He sure is loved!
(And I love this pic!  Sam with his Grandpa and Great
Grandma.  Plus, the pictures on the wall behind my dad
are more relatives - they'd be Sam's Great-Great-Great-Great
(I think) Grandparents Henry and Margaret McNeil Ballard.
Talk about a family tree!)

On Tuesday through Thursday, we spent the mornings playing with Grandma and Megan (and Ky when she'd stop by) before they had to head to work/school.  Lots of stories and games and puzzles and "all the fings in the tent!" scattered about the living room.  I got some errands run (think oil change, jeans shopping (well, really just trying them on), haircut) while I had some ready and willing babysitters on hand.  We got to meet up with my friend Marcy for lunch at our old standby favorite, Fredrico's on Wednesday.  We visited my grandparents at their homes, as well.  And it finally got a little bit warm, and the sidewalk was dry enough to do some playing outside (which Callie LOVED!).  We had a bit of an adventure on Thursday evening when the power was out for half of the city for a few hours right at dinner time.  But we made it a party and ordered Domino's pizza and even got to play with Shelly and Evelyn who happened to be in town.  Surprise!  (Callie thought it was so fun to play with her cousin now that she's walking around.  No more crawling = Cal is interested in being friends, I guess.)

Some early morning shenanigans from this one.

Getting too big!

It was still pretty snowy in the backyard, but
that did not deter us from tromping out to the swings.

She sat here for a good long swinging session.
Spring fever is running high with this one!

Time for some chalk!  This is Callie's name,
written herself.  Note: it's backwards.  Start with
a big C, then a random mark that doesn't really
make sense, then something that looks like an
H but is meant to be an A, then comes l l
i (which happens to just be the dot part) and E
(without the vertical line).  I'm impressed, anyway,
seeing as she is only 2!

bonus video #1!

bonus video #2!

(but not really much of the latter, though that's what he was doing
before I turned on my camera, of course)

This picture is actually not in Logan.  It's from Avon, CO, and
was Gregg's good morning view on Thursday.  Not too shabby!

A sight I love to see.

A little grandma-Callie time in the tent.

We picked Gregg up at the train station in Ogden on Friday morning (he had taken Front Runner from Salt Lake where he had returned his rental car).  We all had had a fun and productive week, but it sure was wonderful to be together again!
