For Christmas, my parents gave Gregg and me a date: gift certificates to rent cross country skis, gift cards to eat lunch at Morty's on campus, and babysitting while we did it. Sign me up! We cashed in on February 6th, a perfectly bluebird winter day in Logan. Gregg had been on cross country skis before, but I was a totally newbie. Good thing Green Canyon is pretty gentle on beginners (if you don't mention that one "steep" hill that kind of freaked me out, but I managed to stay upright anyway coming back down). It was so fun to get out and do something active in the beautiful mountains with my love. (Lunch afterwards was great, too, even though there are no pictures of that.)
Yep, we wore jeans. |
Yep, we're in love. |
After lunch we planned to hang out at my parents' house for a bit while Cal napped and then head up to USU to watch the second half of the women's basketball game that afternoon. Well, Callie decided she didn't want to take a nap so we got to see the whole game instead! Grandma, Ky and Mugs joined us for the fun. Watching the Lady Ags beat the Wyoming Cowgirls was a fun way to introduce Callie to the magic of the Spectrum. Utah State! Hey! Aggies all the way! Go Aggies! Go Aggies! Hey, hey, hey! She even got to see Big Blue, though she was a little hesitant about him getting too close. (Side note: the thing she talked about most from the whole outing was the fact that the escalator was not running that day. Two-year-old bummers.)
Those are some tired eyes. |
And they're out for the count! (A pretty impressive feat, really, since a basket- ball arena is not the quietest or most comfortable place for a nap.) |
Cal loooves her Aggie aunties. (I think they love her, too!) |
I like when we get to borrow your kiddos and have a date while you go on a date! Fun times!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a perfect Christmas present! Looked like a fun date/day all around.
