Hikes {May 2021}

May was our best hiking month yet (especially if you count disc golf outings as hikes, and I do ;).

11 May 2021: Wolf Creek Disc Golf

The view from the 5th hole tee box is pretty sassy.

12 May 2021: Solo walk around The Loop
Just a lovely little evening walk with some colorful sky action.

13 May 2021: North Fork Environmental Center Disc Golf
Our first visit of the year to this course! We've all definitely improved since last time!

18 May 2021: Trail 365 with friends
We met up with our friends Mary and Brooke and their dog Sochi to hike to the pond on the 365 Trail in North Fork. It was so good to see them again!

19 May 2021: Skyline with the young women
We needed a quick and easy Young Women activity for mid-May and a hike seemed like just the ticket. I've never hiked Skyline in the spring for some reason, and I'm so glad to have finally done it! The blooming balsamroot and mules ears were so lovely and it was fun to be out and about with the girls. They're good hikers!

Annie, Lilia, Maylee, Ella, Tessa, Courtney, Mattie,
Charlotte, Tylee and Reese (and me). (This is only about
half of the girls we have in our class!)

Jodi and Claire joined us with popsicles in the parking
lot (and we roped a random parking lot dude to take
our pic so Janice could be in the pic, too).

20 May 2021: Bike ride around The Triangle
We needed to run errands for Cal's business fair - a stop at the Credit Union to get change and at Valley Market to buy baggies - and I was happy to convince the kids to make it an adventure by biking around The Triangle to get there.

20 May 2021: The Machinery Trail
We needed a good after-dinner hike, and this one fit the bill!

22 May 2021: Cold Spring Waterfall
Aka, the best waterfall in North Fork! We hiked here last year about this time and were amazed at the kids' mountain goat tendencies. And this year they blew it out of the park! They were stream-crossing champs and climbed up the last steep part like it was no big deal. And then they played (or at least walked) the entire disc golf course at the Environmental Center, and back! It was a lot of walking/hiking and they didn't bat an eye! Fun day in the mountains!

29 May 2021: Wolf Creek Disc Golf
Again!
