More 4th, More Fun

Tony Grove Lake was chunky with ice
and snow  on the morning of the 4th.

We decided to try somewhere else for a hike, but the
snowmobilers were livin' it up here.

At the Bear Lake overlook rest area we spotted this hummingbird
feeder flocked by at least a half dozen hummingbirds.

Our pathetic attempt at a hike on the
Sunrise Rim Trail: absence of any real trail +
being eaten alive by mosquitos +
looming rainclouds = very short hike

Wildflowers in Strawberry Canyon.

BBQ at the Elwood's was a fun celebration of food,
family, friends and fireworks - Grandma Elwood enjoying the party.

Let freedom ring!

Pretty flower garden.

Brendon from next door.

Heather and MaKayla playing with the snappies.

Dad.

Carson.

Homemade ice cream! (Combined with homemade
root beer made a delightful root beer float.)

My mom always reads a patriotic quote from
John Adams every Independence Day.

The hat was a new addition to the tradition.
I think it was a nice touch.

Matchy, matchy blue squared.

We ended the night with a street fireworks show
followed by, of course, sparklers!

  1. Your family's root beer is the best ever. I'm so jealous of the home made floats!
