Christmas Time is Here {Christmas Eve}

We had a fabulous Christmas Eve celebration with the local (and half of the East Coast) Blanchards.  We met up in West Haven and had a yummy lunch of crepes and sausage rotel dip to kick things off.  Then we visited and walked and hung out with the Farrers and opened presents and played games and ate dinner and opened jammies and opened stockings and read the nativity story.  Whew!  Merry Christmas Eve, indeed!

Present time!
Fun to see the Farrers on the big screen
in the front room!

Sam got this cute hand-painted (in his favorite colors, no less!)
bank box from Melia.

Melia also made him this cute car track
box he can take in the car to play with!

Callie got some fun games from Kage -
she was especially thrilled about Apples
to Apples, which we all played after the
present opening was done.

Sam gave Dray the Monopoly Deal
card game (one of our family faves
as of late).

Plus some funky dog/hamburger/sea
turtle/space socks . . .

. . . and the book Hatchet (one of
Gregg's all time faves!) . . .

. . . and some bacon socks!
(Quite the random assortment for this
kid!)

I gave Scott a bunch of black socks
(super boring, but that's what he
requested through Heather), plus
relish and applesauce (for a little
homemade element to the gift).

Not pictured: I got a kettle for heating water while camping and a homemade hot pad and oven mitt from Kim.  And Gregg got the new Randall Munroe book, How To, from Ryan and gave Lea a golf club cover with her dog Johnnie's face printed on it.  Callie gave Katie the Dog Man stitchery she had been working on all month, plus the newest Dog Man story and a couple other books I had in my book order stash.  (We opened presents with the Davidson crew on Sunday the 22nd since they were going to be in Germany and the girls were in Virginia on Christmas Eve.)  This was our first year of drawing names for gifts in the Blanchard family and we had such a fun time picking things out for each other!

Apples to Apples time!

Dinner time!

Hugging time!

Jammie time!

Stocking time!

Waiting in the front room again for the stockings to be set up.

Sam was giving Aggie a massage with
his new car.

Goofball time!

Christmas time!
