Eden's Rockin' New Year's Eve

We had such a fun time celebrating New Year's Eve with skiing and food and family last year that we proposed to do it again this year.  Unfortunately, many of my family had other plans and obligations that day and evening, but we were happy to have my parents and Megan come down for the day.  We crammed in plenty of fun for the few of us!

First we met up at Nordic Valley for an hour or so of skiing before lunch.  The kids took turns on the magic carpet with Grandma assisting while I took one at a time on the double lift on the small hill with Megan.  We got two lift runs for each kid before it was time for lunch, then we headed home and ate.  After lunch, Megan and I went back to the hill for another handful of runs all off the biggest lift, Apollo.  The kids and grandparents and Gregg stayed home to work (Gregg), play legos, read stories and play games.

When Mugs and I finished skiing, we came home for our smorgasbord feast (oops - forgot to snap a pic!) of shrimp, chips and salsa, bbq chicken wings, little smokies and meatballs, cheese ball, crackers, stuffing stuffed mushrooms, and veggie tray.  We ate and introduced the rest of the group to our favorite Cabin Building youtube channel.  Then we bundled up again and headed out into the night for the "torcher guys" ski down and fireworks at the mountain.  It was great to watch from right in front of the lodge rather than en route and in the parking lot like last year (we got a slow start then and they started early last year!).

Then it was back home and off to bed.  (No midnight bedtimes for us around here!  But the fireworks in the neighborhood made sure that we didn't sleep soundly, that's for certain!)  Happy New Year and new decade!

Callie is the queen of decorating and advertising and party planning
around here.

Fun ski adventure buddy!

Cal and Sam loved the "torcher guys"
part - I can imagine they'd like to join in someday!

Happy New Year bunch!
