Gregg got this front carrier from his parents for his birthday. He "practiced" during the week leading up to Callie's birth by carrying around a bag of flour and a few sundry cans of food from the pantry. At last he was able to carry a real, live baby in his new toy. HIS real, live baby. Can't beat it. :)
Our first Monday Night "Hike" on 1 July 2013, which was actually just a walk to the newspaper box and back, was a huge success:

On the fourth of July we hit an actual trail along the shores of the Black Lakes on top of Vail Pass. She slept the whole time:
We thought the carrier was a total win until we attempted another, true Monday Night Hike on the East Lake Creek Trail on 8 July. Hiking was not in Callie's plans for that evening, and we only made it on the trail about a half mile before waving the white flag. Poor Cal cried the entire time - during the drive to the trailhead, on the trail, and all the way home. We're slowly learning that our plans no longer matter and what Cal says goes:
