It's Birthday Time for You ---> Gregg

We had a fun day celebrating our favorite guy/dad/husband on June 2nd.  Callie helped me pick out some fun presents for him, which we wrapped up and hid in her closet the night before so he wouldn't see them.  The next morning, after she woke up (I woke her up - seriously, who is this girl?) we watched him unwrap his treasures: a bag of Swedish fish ("I think Dad will share with me if we get these!"), a water pitcher (with bonus drinking cups inside!) and a box of Raisin Bran Crunch (his favorite cereal).  Wow.  Turning 34 was never so exciting in the gift department!  We made him a "special" breakfast of egg mcmuffins and OJ and then he headed down the hall to work.  But lucky for him (and us!) his company has recently instituted a new every-other-Friday-early-out policy and the first one happened on his birthday.  So after Sam's nap we gathered up our discs and hiked to the North Fork Environmental Center for a round of birthday disc golf.  It was gorgeous up there and we had the place to ourselves (as usual).  After hiking back down, we ordered some Harley's Nachos from Carlos and Harley's on the drive back home, grabbed the stroller, and walked over to the park, stopping to pick up said nachos at the corner restaurant on the way.  What a birthday feast!  After playing at the park for a while, we came back home for some cookies and ice cream before bed.  Sam went down in his room, but Cal and Dad trekked out to the backyard for a mini camping trip.  (They lasted till 8:30 pm before they were back inside - ha!)  All in all, a pretty good day, I'd say.

Daddy duck and his two little ducklings.

Disc golf in the mountains - ain't nothin' bettah.

Dinner is served!

Grabbin' an extra snack from the chip bag
(our order of nachos came with a side of
chips and salsa - holla!) as a break during park
time.

Dad and Cal date in the backyard.

They're ready for a good night's sleep. ;)

A little pillow talk before coming inside into their comfy beds
for the night.

Bonus birthday fun: we snagged tickets (pretty last minute, really) for the USMNT friendly against Venezuela at Rio Tinto on Saturday night.  It worked out nicely (with the help of Laurel and Bret to feed us/them and put them to bed) to drop the kids off in South Jordan so Gregg and I could have a little date to the game.  It was a fun time, and not officially a birthday celebration, but when it happens the day after your actual birthday, it just sort of gets lumped into the fun.

We sat on the west side of the stadium so I didn't get a great
sunset + stadium pic like I like to do when I go to a game.  But
during our halftime walk around the concourse, we still got to
watch the colors fade along the western sky.  And it was lovely.

I know, I know - it looks almost exactly the same as the one
before, but I got the lit up Jordan River Temple in the corner
of this one - can you spot it?

Happy birthday to my dishy!  We are the luckiest to have him as our husband/dad.  He's a good man, that Gregg.
