A Birthday Date Fit for a Five-Year-Old

Every year around their birthdays, Paul and Kim take the grandkids that are 4+ on a birthday date.  The birthday kid gets to choose their activity and a place to eat and lots of fun and photos are had by all.  Last year, Cal opted for Chick-fil-A and Kangaroo Zoo.  This year, Cal chose to go to the little Carver's Cove petting farm that we pass by quite often on our walks through Eden, but have never been to.  Then she wanted to eat at Mad Moose Cafe, a little restaurant that is practically next door to the farm.  Grandpa and Grandma picked Callie up at our house on Friday morning (June 1st).  She was so excited for this adventure, she had set up her camp chair in front of the house to wait for them to arrive.  After the date, they came back home to eat a little birthday cupcake and we all got to sing to our birthday girl.

Ready to go!

They got to see lots of babies.

The animals were okay, but the real highlight for Cal was
getting to sit on all the tractors!

She also got a horse ride, and since it was her birthday, she got
to go around the field twice!

After the ride the horse got an apple for a treat.

They even had a pot bellied pig!

Kids meals at Mad Moose come with a free scoop of ice cream,
so she chose the physcadelic "playdoh" flavor.  Yipes!
