More Pumpkin Fun in Cache Valley

We gathered with some of the Elwood crew at my parents house on the evening of Friday, October 25th.  The occasion?  Pumpkin carving!  (We started out with yummy tortellini soup for dinner first, though.)  Callie and Sam had their visions of jack-o-lanterns dancing in their heads and did a great job of drawing faces on their pumpkins for mom and dad to carve (after they successfully de-gutted their gourds, of course).  It's always fun to see a whole porch-ful of cousins and twinkling smiling jack-o-lanterns when we're all done.  Cal and Sam brought their costumes for a little pre-halloween grandma trick-or-treat.  And then it was time for bed - at Grandma's house!  Sleepover fun!

We woke up Saturday morning to pumpkin pancakes for breakfast and more cousin time at the pumpkin trebuchet contest in North Logan.  It was a bit disappointing to only see two teams had entered this year, so Gregg decided then and there that we'd have an entry next year!  Stay tuned for that adventure.  After watching plenty of pumpkins get their guts smashed all over a field, we tried out a new-to-us restaurant in Logan, Romo's Mediterranean Grill, for lunch and then headed back home.

Sam's is the smiley one the third down from

And here is Cal's spooky face.

A most generous grandma with half of her grandies.

Miss Maggie Mohawk sure loves to save her smiles
for her big bro and sis.

Introducing Uncle Michael, the Strongest Guy in the World!
(I think he did 3-4 full pushups with all these hooligans on his back!)
