NSAA Nashville

This spring Gregg won a major award - a SAMMY Leadership Award from Ski Area Management Magazine. It was being presented at a special party/ceremony during the NSAA National Convention in Nashville May 11-14. So he went to accept the honor and to meet up with friends and colleagues at the conference. While his overall impression of Nashville was quite poor (he says he'll never pay his own money to return), he was able to enjoy a few walks around the city and he really was grateful for the recognition and kindness of his ski industry friends.

Wednesday evening hotel views.

Thursday evening sunset walk.

Late Thursday night I got a short text and this pic
after his awards party. It was super late there, so that's all
he left me with and I definitely had more questions
than answers at that point!

On Friday he sent me some other pics taken by friends
and explained a bit more about the award party - it was in a small
bar with loud music. Everyone signed a wooden snowboard
(which SAM had to ship home for him)
and he was given a bottle of whiskey (which he ended up
pouring down the drain so he could bring the bottle home in his
carry on luggage). I still don't really understand the hat
(Nashville, I guess?) and the face on a stick and stickers. Ha.

He even got to give an acceptance speech, though
this is what he wished he would have said.

Saturday morning walk through town - pretty dead
after all night party-ville.

Yay, Gregg! He really is a rock star and I'm glad everyone else seems to know it, too!
