We love the balloon festival that happens every year in our backyard (practically and literally, sometimes). This year was no exception. We made it over to the park every day for some part of the action. Being so close to such big, bold, beautiful balloons will never get old to me. It is the perfect magical ending event to our spectacular summer!
Friday (16 August) Morning Launch: I said to Gregg that I don't know why I still take pictures every year because they're the same as every year. But I just can't help myself. They're just delightful!
I LOVE Gregg's smile in this pic. |
The mountain one is still my favorite of them all. |
Friday morning the winds were in our favor for the balloons to head toward our house. |
Callie begged to eat breakfast outside and watch the balloons like we did last year. |
Friday Night Glow: Paul and Kim have come to Eden on one of the evenings of the balloon festival nearly every year but have never actually seen a balloon glow! This year was the year! We also had Melia and Cohen staying with us, and it was fun to share the balloon fun with them.
Waiting (sort of) patiently for the glow to start. |
Just look at these cute boys. I haven't said it for a while, but I'll say it now: Be still my heart! |
bonus video!
Saturday (17 August) Morning Launch: Cal slept longer than the rest of the kiddos, so I stayed home with her until she woke up while Gregg took Sam, Melia and Cohen to the park to watch the launch. I still had a great view from our yard and as Cal and I walked down the street to meet the rest of the fam. Seriously, I love this stuff!
Sunday (18 August) Morning Launch: Only Sam wanted to wander to the park this morning, and we got a later start than the other mornings, so we missed all the launching, but we had a lovely walk and got to see one last sight of the balloons till next year.
I should have known you'd blog about it. I was missing not seeing your instagram photos of the balloons this year. We've gotta make it back - so stick around in Eden for at least another balloon fest please!
