Adventuring {July's Wednesday Wilderness Walks}

We kept up the Wednesday morning hiking tradition in July, with a pretty good mix of super easy (just-go-till-you're-ready-to-turn-around type hikes) and a little more challenging (let's-keep-going-so-we-can-see-the-cool-thing-at-the-end).  Every week is a different mix of moms and kids, but so far we've never been solo, so I call it a win!

5 July 2017: "Old Highway Trailhead: Pineview North Trail" (Gregg calls it the "Reservoir Rim" because it doesn't really have a name) (Eden)

Hikers: Callie, Sam, Kim, Theodore, Bennett, Emmeline, Ashley, Gavin, Elon, Lindsay, Moriah, Rachel, Sariah

A hot, dusty hike called for some cool water time afterward.

12 July 2017: Paper Airplane Trail (Powder Mountain)
Hikers: Callie, Sam, Kim, Lily, Christie, Eden, Summit, Everett, Arta, Gideon, Lewis, Brenley

The flowers were spectacular!

Back we go - it wasn't as happy of a walk
back to the cars - tired, hungry, grumpy kids
and a bit of an uphill, plus warm mid-day
sunshine made for some tears and tantrums
on the way back (luckily Cal wasn't the only
one feeling the feels).

And what the heck, Sam?  He didn't hike AT
ALL today.  I was pooped!

19 July 2017: South Skyline Trail (Eden)

Just happy to see these signs at the trailhead.

Now how to get the mountain bikers to read them?

26 July 2017: Green Pond Trail (Snowbasin)

CANCELED due to rain. (One of those Hallelujah + Bummer kind of situations - we'll try this one again for sure when it's not so wet and muddy.)
