Vermont 2023 {Cottage Tour}

Hello! Welcome to our Timberline Cottage, number 4823. Come on inside and we'll give you a tour!

When you first walk in the front door, to the left
you'll see this closet, which houses our washer
and dryer.

To the right, you have our "mud room" area
with bench, coat hooks and shelf, and a door
that leads to the adjoining unit. Gregg's bike fits
nicely in this corner.

Down the hall you see the bedroom
at the end and the bathroom on the left.
Past the bathroom on the left is the staircase.

Here's the bathroom.

Here's the bedroom. That door leads to a deck looking
over the backyard. Notice Gregg's office set up on the left:
ironing board for desk and extra kitchen chair to sit on.

Now we go downstairs.

And down some more to the living area.

Here is the living room. We're bummed to not have
a fireplace this year. And it's weird to have an upside
down layout compared to what we've had before. But
we're getting used to it. We brought foam pads for
the kids to sleep on. Cal sleeps on the side of the couch
by the window and Sam is on the other side of the couch
by the table.

From the back door you can see the dining
and kitchen areas.

Here's the kitchen. I actually love that we have
that larger counter section over in the far
corner this year. Before it was a tiny slice
and then the fridge was on the other side.

This time the fridge and pantry are on
the opposite wall from the rest of the kitchen.
That big door leads into the utility room.

Cal set up shop here for her bedroom
the first night, but quickly moved out,
back into the living room with Sam,
when the weird, loud noises from the plumbing
made it impossible to sleep.

Another view from the utility room.

And this is looking out of the kitchen into the rest of
the basement.

In the backyard, Gregg set up his hammock from the deck
posts, and it makes for a lovely spot to hang out.
(ha!)

We have a building next to us on the left and another
on the other side of the parking lot behind it.
Luckily we have these trees that block most of that building.
