Vermont 2023 {Stowe Fieldtrip}

8 September 2023 - We dropped Gregg off at the office on Friday morning so he could get things set up for next week's conference. We continued on down the road a few miles to get our first cider donuts at Cold Hollow. It was crazy to be there with pretty much NO ONE else. Wild! It was pretty quiet factory wise, too. No cider being pressed. Just a few donuts being fried. And we didn't even get warm ones. BUT. That doesn't matter. They're still the best donuts ever.

After donuts, we went to the grocery store to get a few more things we missed on our first grocery trip this week. We filled up with gas. And then we found a little park to play at and get some wiggles out. Our next stop was back in Stowe at the Stowe Free Library, located in the old High School building, right off the main drag in historic Stowe. This was a great little spot! Lots of books - new ones that our library doesn't even have, so the kids were so excited to sit down with The Babysitter's Club and Dogman and some different LEGO books. They even got guest passes to use the computers for a bit. We hung out here, exploring and playing and reading until we got hungry and went outside to eat our sandwiches in the cute little gazebo out front.

There were tons of printed signs and quotes
all over the library and I liked this one.

A cool idea! Book club kits - bags (they had
plastic boxes, too) with with ten copies of the
same book so you can check them out for your
book club.

Don't you know the Dewey Decimal System?

The view from the Gazebo looking toward
the main part of Stowe. There are a few sculptures
out in the front yard that are part of The Current,
a contemporary art gallery in the top level of the
library building. We didn't have time to go up
there, but we will be back!

Gazebo sandwich time.

I told Cal to stand over there with her sandwich
so I could get a pic of the library and gazebo and her.
