Photos from Phones - June 2019 Round Up

June!  I love it so!  It's when our yard looks the absolute best - so green and thick and beautiful (even though it's solidly weeds).  The mountains are green and yellow (I know it's mostly dyer's woad, but a lot of it is arrow leaf balsam root, and I love those!) and we start to see some spectacular sunsets again (I'm sure they're there in winter, too, but I just don't wander through my backyard in the evenings at that time of year, so I don't get as many photos of that).  It's also when our allergies kick in big time and our eyes and noses are itchy and runny and stuffy and sometimes it's downright miserable!  Bitter with the sweet, though, right?  We also have all the birthday fun at the beginning of the month.  Those photos will be in their own places, though.  The hiking, too.  And anything else that I deem is worth its own separate post.  Here is everything else!  (And be sure to stop back each week or so for updates as the month moves on.)

6.1.19
(see what I mean by lush and green?!)

6.1.19
(and sunsets?!)

6.2.19

6.2.19
(I just missed the colorful part, I think.  But these moody blues
are lovely, too.)

6.4.19
(I went out to get the mail after we got home from our Providence
time, and looking southeast, this is what I saw)

6.5.19
(we stopped by Lorin Farr park after our tyke hike for free
lunch and arts in the parks)

6.5.19
(I love that they do this!  breaks up the monotony of summer
lunchtime for sure!)

6.5.19
(wednesdays are Feel It: African drumming
with Deja Mitchell and the kids got to make
dancing streamers and tamborines)

6.5.19
(my friend Erin and I have been worried that the poppies by
the park wouldn't be back because there was construction
along that side of the road for a few weeks earlier this year.
I snapped this to show her that they are coming!)

6.6.19
(a little flashback to high school with this CD
my friend Jessie made me of our faves - I popped
it in while doing some baking this morning
and the kids were in awe that I knew all the words
to every song!)

6.6.19
(it was the best for boosting my baking mood
this morn)

6.6.19
(and what was I baking? why a giant pile of flatbread, of course!
preppin' for my turn to serve dinner in South Dakota)

6.6.19
(another day, another lunch in the park)

6.6.19
(his favorite thing is the chocolate milk)

6.6.19
(listening to the storyteller, Rachel Hedman,
was so fun for all of us.  She told us three Native
American stories; one about the sun, one about
fire and one about water, and all about animals)

6.6.19
(he was soaking it up!)

6.6.19
(then the kids got to write and draw their
own comic strips at one station and create a story
map at another station)

6.6.19
(we've been listening to and LOVING
this sort of memoir-ish series by
Tomie dePaola about his childhood
and the best part is that he narrates
them!  A must listen!)

6.6.19
(he was zonked!  I had to wake him up a few
minutes before 4:00 so we could go play at
a friends' house who had invited us and were
waiting patiently for us to show up)

6.6.19
(Braylin decorated Cal's hair with all the nature
they could find in her backyard)

6.6.19

6.6.19
(dad was gone, so we decided to dine at Mad Moose as a little
treat)

6.7.19
(friday night pizza and a movie - can you guess
what we watched?)

6.7.19
(here's another hint)

6.7.19
(if you guessed Space Jam, then you would be
correct - classic!)

6.8.19
(last night while I was washing some dishes
around 9 pm, a big gust of wind knocked a huge
limb from this pine tree while I watched out the
window.  when we checked it in the morning, we
found it was actually the whole top of the tree!)

6.8.19
(boom! this is post limb removal by Gregg)

6.8.19

6.8.19

6.8.19
(I've been enjoying these sassy summer sunsets once again)

6.8.19
(so pink!)

6.8.19

(insert a lot of birthday hoopla plus a fabulous

6.17.19
(first day of soccer camp - she was ready!)

6.18.19
(library faves it's time to return.
Sam especially loved that IDinosaur one since Gregg downloaded
the app that made it look like the dinos were crawling on the table
and roaring at you.)

6.18.19
(monkey bar master isn't afraid of these taller ones
at the Huntsville park anymore!)

6.18.19

6.18.19

6.18.19

6.18.19

6.18.19

6.18.19
(and this guy got all the way to the top of the
jungle gym (and back down again!) by himself!)

6.18.19
(haul for a six year old.  probably will only take
her a week!)

6.18.19
(it isn't often when the sunset views to the east are better than
looking west, but this was one of those nights)

6.18.19

6.18.19
(western views weren't bad, necessarily, but
just different)

6.19.19
(driveway biking time)

6.20.19
(on the last day of soccer camp they gave the kids
their soccer camp picture (taken on the second
day of soccer camp))

6.20.19
(love!)

6.20.19
(they're a bit late this year, but they're as lovely as
ever)

6.20.19

6.20.19
(Amen!)

6.21.19
(lunch in the park at a new (to us) park)

6.21.19

6.21.19
(these are interesting.  their serving of fruit with
their free lunch. kids weren't a fan.

6.22.19
(played some disc golf at the environmental center)

6.22.19
(the teepee is up again this year - always makes
for a fun stop)

6.23.19
(we had to stop and take advantage of the beauitful
poppies and the spruced up kids for a mini photo
shoot on the walk to church on Sunday)

6.23.19

6.23.19

6.23.19

6.23.19

6.23.19

6.23.19

6.23.19
(we had a belated father's day dinner with my family in Logan
and afterward went to the quad on campus to listen to the first
alumni band concert of the season.  I love these things!)

6.23.19
(these cousins make me chuckle)

6.24.19
(this was a particularly good stack this week)

6.24.19
(also excellent)

6.24.19
(the clouds were spectacular on our walk by the reservoir
with Charlie and Erin (and Logan!) before we went to the library)

6.25.19
(I loved the shadows on the mountains from the clouds)

6.25.19
(the reservoir is still full to the max)

6.24.19

6.24.19
(we had rocky road ice cream cones for an FHE
treat, can you tell?)

6.24.19
(oh this face!)

6.25.19
(we were running errands in Ogden but had a little
extra time for a stop at the dino park - they're doing
some updates to the brachiosaurus!)

6.25.19
(world's most dangerous creatures)

6.25.19
(peek-a-boo!)

6.25.19
(we happened to be there right in time for a little
"science on the go" activity where the kids
tried to be "archaeologists" and put together a wooden
skeleton using comparative anatomy.  it was tricky!)

6.25.19
(cal was on the right track with this spine assembly)

6.25.19
(he was helping me cut olives for dinner - all by
himself!)

6.25.19
(oops!  a little late-night trailer painting mishap)

6.26.19
(this week's faves before returning)

6.26.19
(and a few more that I forgot to get in the first
pic)
