Photos from Phones - April 2018 Round Up

I've gotten so behind.  Do I say that every month?  Probably.  But it's the last day of May and I'm just barely getting to my round up of April's photos (plus all the other posts that needed to come before that!) (don't worry, I'll post-date them so they all show up in chronological order in the month that they happened) (because I'm picky like that).  ANYWAY.  April was fun.  I really can't remember much else.  So I guess we should just start scrolling and see what fills in the gaps between Easter, spring break, a missionary homecoming, some Friday fun, and a handful of hikes.  Shall we?

4.2.18
(my favorite library hack is putting EVERY-
THING on hold so when I get there I just have
to grab my giant stack and move on with my life.)

4.2.18
(this was Cal's stack of early readers from the
library last week; and yes, she read them all!)

bonus video!

4.3.18
(he's getting better!)

4.8.18
(Sunday afternoon stories)

4.8.18
(she made guacamole for dinner!)

4.8.18
(Gregg brought these back from his Masters/North Carolina trip -
just like from the Great British Baking Show!)

4.8.18
(Cal wrote down the recipe for taquitos as we made them for
dinner)

4.9.18
(glad Dad is home - probably watching their fave
cabin building channel on youtube)

4.10.18
(only the fanciest of sheet pan dinners in these parts)

4.11.18
(I got to present a DNA extraction demonstration/class at
the elementary school one morning.  I had fun and the kids
loved seeing real DNA.)

4.11.18
("Dear Cohen (the little boy (Sam's age) we babysat
on Tuesdays for a couple of months)
,
I know you're coming to our house.  I {heart} friends.
A cat was eating a bird feeder. Picture -> (I think she
was indicating that there is a picture on the other side.)

A black and white cat.  I hope you come back.
{heart} Cal"
I had to snap a pic of this note for a few reasons:
1 - she wrote it all on her own with zero help from
me (she's amazing!)
2 - that cat incident was pretty funny - we had a
pinecone + peanut butter + birdseed feeder hanging
on a tree and the cat found it and tried to get it down
but couldn't, so it ended up just holding itself by its
claws on the trunk of the tree and eating the seed/pb
off the pinecone with its teeth.  that pinecone was
shredded!)

4.11.18
(bikin' with boots!)

bonus videos!

4.11.18

4.11.18
(a lovely after-dinner walk to the trailhead)

4.12.18
(a rather productive day)

4.12.18
(besides making bread, above, I also put together
this new bookshelf for our kids books)

4.12.18
(we all love it!)

4.12.18
(I thought at first that I had taken this pic because
of the snow, which is noteworthy, I guess, for
mid-april.  But look closer at the trunk of that tree.
That's the bird feeder-eating cat caught in the act!)

4.14.18
(I went to a baby shower in Logan for my cousin
and came home to this on the door. :D  I think this
is a good sign (pun most definitely intended) that
their Dad Party was successful!)

4.14.18
(hammock time is back!)

4.14.18

bonus video!

4.14.18
(warning: you may become seasick from watching this one!)

4.14.18
(burley reading, while parked at the park)

4.15.18
(Sunday snoozin')

4.15.18
(found this perfect robin egg on the side of the road
on our walk - it's so lovely, but I'm sad that it won't
ever hatch)

4.16.18
(I love this for so many reasons: 1- the sunglasses
inside; 2 - she's copying the names of birds eggs
she found in this great book (Jack's Garden, see
photo of the cover up there a ways); 3 - she
came up with this activity all by herself!)

4.17.18
(again with the Callie notes - I just can't help it!
"Happy Happy birthday Grandpa. Ready to go
to lunch?  Grandpa I {heart} you. I hope you had
a fun birthday. {heart} Cal Cal's 45
(I have no idea?)")

4.19.18
(DIing for a bike - but only for its parts.  we need
a new tube for our stroller, and this one is the right
size for half of what we'd spend on just a tube.
score!)

4.19.18
(new park playin' while we wait for our lunch
to be ready to pick up for Grandpa's birthday
date)

4.19.18

4.19.18
(Minnie and Doll are ridin' in style after Cal's
recent purchase - the pom poms were a fun
bonus that came with the basket)

4.20.18
(Cal wrote this poem - see bonus video for her
reading it!)
bonus video!

4.20.18
(read by Callie Cal herself)

4.20.18
(hard to really tell in a picture, but the hole puncher on the bottom
is completely bent out of shape because I tried to punch a hole
in too thick of a stack of paper - don't know my own strength!)

4.21.18
(be free, and eat many aphids, little lady bugs!)

4.21.18
(Cal and I went to a fun earth day party at the
library this afternoon and we came home
with a bag of lady bugs to release into our yard!)

4.21.18
(in case you were wondering . . . )

4.23.18
(some lovely springy/earth day faves)

4.23.18
(some other fun ones that I really enjoyed this week)

4.23.18
(I'm in love with spring on the street where I live)

4.24.18
(three kids (one is our little friend Cohen) playing on a stump)

4.24.18
(they were out there for hours!  I loved it!)

4.24.18
(new shoes!  my birthday shoes that I finally decided on finally
came!)

4.25.18
(kindergarten round-up was a huge hit!)

4.25.18
(she got home and got right to work on her
summer homework packet)

4.26.18
(today's deck lunch situation is winning in every
way)

4.27.18
(chickie sitting for our friends for a few days)

4.27.18
(pretty cute little chickies, but I was happy to
send them back to their home ;)

4.27.18
(here for a few hours and they're already labeled - ha!)

4.27.18
(we were having a bird problem - a robin kept trying to fly into
Callie's bedroom window (over and over and over and over)
and it was really annoying and distracting so Gregg came up
with a brilliant solution.  That actually worked!  We had to keep
kitty kitty out there on the deck railing for a week or so, but
the bird finally learned to move on with its life.)

4.28.18
(6:54 am - a gorgeous sunrise from my kitchen drew me outside
for a few peaceful minutes)

bonus video!

4.28.18
(I just loved the sounds of my yard as I tried to photograph the sunrise)

4.29.18
(I can't keep up anymore!)

4.30.18
(home from the library for 45 minutes and she's already burned
through her stack of Elephant and Piggie books!)

Every other round up here (whew!):
