Vermont 2021 {10/12: Burlington Greenway, North Beach Park}

Tuesday the 12th was another gorgeous weather day that we couldn't waste, so we did our half-day of school/work in the morning and loaded the bikes up again for a ride on the Burlington Greenway Trail along the waterfront of Lake Champlain. This was a new one for us, and it was fantastic. I think the best part was North Beach Park, where we parked to start and finish our ride, which gave us a perfect spot for a picnic dinner when we were done and then a fun splash in the lake as we watched the sun sink lower and begin to set. What a place!

This looks like a cemetery or something, but I think those
posts are just to mark parking spaces but you can't even tell
it's a parking lot because of all the leaves!

We made it maybe 4 miles (we still need to calculate)
along the path until we hit this closed area on Austin
Drive. It was a good spot to turn around, but kind of a bummer
we couldn't make it to Blanchard Beach. ;)

It was such a fun ride with lots of different things to see:
downtown area, pier, train tracks, neighborhoods, etc.

And the sky was fantastic!

So fun to see the sailboats!

A perfect picnic spot.

It was in the 70s, and the water was shallow and actually
not that cold, and . . . when in Rome . . .

They could walk out forever without it getting deep!

No swim suits? No problem!

Pale pink sky as we drove through Burlington on our
way out of town.

And even brighter still once we hit the freeway.
