Vermont 2021 {10/4: Enchanted Forest Playground, Cold Hollow Cider Mill}

After we finished up school on Monday (4 Oct), we hopped in the car with the McClungs (luckily they have 7 seatbelts for just such an outing!) and headed south to (finally) get a taste of the best cider donuts in the state. We stopped for a photo op at the gorgeous lake (called Belvidere Pond) that is between Montgomery and Eden. Once again, we were cursing our phones for not capturing what the scene really looked like. Just know it was absolutely stunning.

They were wired - it was nearly impossible to get
a "normal" pic out of them!

The kids were going crazy in the car, so we decided to hit up the Enchanted Forest playground at Stowe Mountain Resort before we took them inside a big store with lots of people and things to touch (and/or break). They climbed and spun and laughed and jumped and got lots of wiggles out at the park. (And yes, we saw (and photographed) more mushrooms!)

At last we made it to Cold Hollow! The place was super busy, but we found a parking spot and once we got inside it really didn't feel to crowded. We had fun browsing all the fun things in the store, and tasting cider while watching the video about how they make it (unfortunately it was clean up time on the press while we were there, so all we got to see through the window was someone hosing everything down). Then we got in line and bought some cider, syrup, summer sausage, and postcards. And forgot to ask for donuts! Whoops! Christine came through for me though and snagged me a bag. We sat out on gazebo and inhaled our snacks. Yum! Welcome to Vermont!

This is what we've been waiting for!!
