Vermont 2021 {Getting There: Ferry Across Champlain}

(Day 7, cont) Wednesday, 29 September 2021: Plattsburgh, NY to South Hero, VT to Jay Peak, VT
We left the beach in Plattsburgh and drove down the road to the ferry dock where we paid our fare and waited in our spot until the next ferry came and we could drive on. Woo! What a fun way to travel! Between exiting the the ferry and Jay Peak, we stopped for a quick second at Hackett's Orchard in South Hero for our first cider donuts of the trip. Ah, what a way to be welcomed to this state!

We got to Jay Peak at 5:01 pm (check in time was 5!), got our keys, drove to our condo, tried the keys, drove back to the hotel desk, got our keys reprogrammed, drove back to our condo, and got settled in.
Ah, how good it is to be back in Jay Peak!

We got a kick out of this sign . . . don't see
any like that in Utah, that's for sure!

We pulled up just as the ferry was closed off so we watched it
pull away and the next one come in. It's a pretty quick process, actually.

We had a front row seat on our ride!

Somewhere in the middle here we crossed into Vermont!

These are their "welcome to Vermont" faces.

Just drivin' on a ferry for the first time ever!

Welcome to Vermont!

Gromlets for dinner made us feel right at home!

The kids were so happy to have access to their
toys again! And a new surprise set of Lego was an
even sweeter deal.
