Photos from Phones - October 2018 Round Up

Check it out!  It's only a few days into November and I'm already posting the October round up!  This must be some kind of record!  We did A LOT of fun things during October, so there are A LOT of posts already up about those: Tetons trip, Ohio trip (and corresponding "Dad Party"), plenty of pumpkin fun, hikes, Antelope Island exploring, and Halloween shenanigans.  And yet.  Here we are with all the leftovers.  Which are also fun.

10.1.18
(I was doing a clean-up of the walls to make way for new
fall-themed art, but I had to snap a few pics of my favorites
from Cal that have been up for the last few months.  I really
have no idea what prompted this one, but "bathroom" and "men"
"wo" just cracks me up!)

10.1.18
(I loved these cheery flowers and those fantastic birds!)

10.1.18

10.1.18

10.1.18
(backstory: I had made a picture for her that said, "Cal my pal"
so she made me one that said this. Love! :)

10.1.18
(napping with a bear and a book - be still my heart!)

10.1.18
(driveway views lookin' lovely!)

10.1.18
(ridin' to school views lookin' lovely, too)

10.1.18
(Heelloooo, October!)

10.1.18
(one armed bandit)

10.1.18
(YES!)

10.2.18
(We decorated for Halloween! This area is about
the extent of any decorated place in the house.)

10.2.18
(fun mail day!  backstory: I had bought 3 cases of tomato sauce
in September during the case lot sale.  But when I got home I
realized I had only paid for one case.  So I called Macey's and
offered to pay over the phone, but they didn't like that idea and
said I could just stop in the next time I was in the area and take
care of it.  Well, I'm never in the area.  I seriously only go to that
Macey's once a year at case lot time.  So I finally just sent them
a check with a note explaining the whole situation.  It took a couple
weeks, but they finally processed my check and then they sent me
a $10 gift card as a thank you.  Haha.  The tomato sauce cost $12.36!)

10.2.18
(spotted at the school - it will be fun to watch
for the tulips in the spring!)

10.2.18
(more Mr. Rogers wisdom)

10.3.18
(perfect day for some leaf/puddle biking)

10.3.18
(I'm in love with fall on the street where I live!)

10.3.18
(I love to see the temple - I didn't make it there
in September because it was closed when I went
(oops) so I got a bonus early October session in
to make up for it.)

10.3.18

10.7.18
(General Conference breakfast: apple pie cinnnamon rolls!
They look good now, but they actually were super gooey in
the middle, which I didn't realize until I had frosted them
with maple cream cheese frosting and we sat down to eat them.
So I scraped off all the frosting and put them back in the oven
for a while, which may or may not have helped.  Then I refrosted
them and we ate them for the next week!  Whew!  I'm so over
 them!  haha)

10.7.18
(park time with teddy)

10.7.18
(and more still)

10.8.18
(Sam was sitting in my lap during a sisters
text storm and he looked so darn cute I just
had to snap this selfie of us and our matching
double chins)

10.9.18
(she is her father's daughter (she's snuggled
on the heat vent))

10.9.18
(two boys in a box . . . I mean "ball pit" (this is Charlie, Sam's
BFF))

10.9.18
(Elwood sibs and cousin Christmas name
drawing was done in a "virtual extravaganza"
via Google Hangout this year.  It was a great party
and that night Sam prayed "thank you that we
could talk to those people" and it made me
so happy that I wrote about it twice now.  :)

10.10.18
(I had to do a double take when I woke up this morning!)

10.10.18
(yep!  really snow!)

10.10.18
(as soon as breakfast was eaten, the kids were out
the door to play in it.)

10.10.18

10.10.18
(those $5 snow shovels they bought from our store
in June are really going to be handy this winter, I've
decided.)

10.10.18
(he thought it was awesome to shovel)

10.10.18

10.10.18

10.10.18

10.10.18

10.10.18
("it snowed on our pumpkins!")

10.10.18

10.10.18
(she was soaked through by the time we went in
for hot cider.  That was some super soggy snow!)

10.10.18

10.10.18
(activity days girls making caramel apples)

10.10.18
(activity days leader's children making caramel apples, too!)

10.10.18

10.10.18

10.10.18

10.10.18

10.10.18
(I always love to read about Johnny Appleseed in the fall.
We even got a cute animated DVD version from the library and
poor little sensitive Sammy started crying when he thought a
bear was going to eat Johnny: "where is his house, mom??!"
spoiler alert: it all turned out just fine.)

10.10.18
(I love Cynthia Rylant, and I thought this one was cute.)

10.15.18
(sweet clouds from Gregg's flight to VT)

10.15.18

10.15.18
(I don't actually remember when Callie got this
letter from her best pen pal/cousin, but I snapped
a picture of it today to show my parents because
I thought they'd like it, too.)

10.15.18
(here's the note on the back.  cracks me up
with its cuteness!)

10.16.18
(serene sunset sky in Stowe)

10.16.18
(I reread The Little Leftover Witch to Callie
again this month (we first read it last October
and we both loved it so I checked it out again)
and I just really liked the description of Grandfather
Doon in the third paragraph from the bottom:
"he had laughed so much all of his life that the
laugh was part of his skin".  That's what I want!)

10.16.18
(a fun gardening pumpkining book we enjoyed)

10.17.18
(good morning from my bed full of weirdos)

10.17.18
(spooky sammy)

10.19.18
(I brought these funky seedpods home from my
Ohio trip to show the kids, and after sitting on the
table for a few days, they shriveled up and released
the seeds inside right there in my living room!)

10.19.18
(my mom sent us home with some cookie dough since we didn't
have time to make them with her while we had our sleepover
during fall break.  so we made and decorated (and ate) them at home.)

10.20.18
(Sam is really getting into writing and drawing
lately.  This is the first thing he's drawn that
actually looks like the thing he wants it to be -
do you see the car?)

10.21.18
(a magnificent Sunday evening walk around the
loop)

10.21.18
(I see the moon, the moon sees me)

10.22.18
(we were walking out the library doors when Cal exclaimed,
"look!  it's a snail!"  I never would have noticed it - it was so
tiny!  But Gregg said since she's always staring at the ground
looking for money, she's bound to notice cool bugs, too.)

10.22.18
(full on snail mode)

10.22.18
(whoopsie - got a little carried away with my library holds
this week - I mean, I always have a stack to pick up, but they're
usually mostly picture books.  Not this time!)

10.22.18
(FHE treats were my choice and I made
caramel apple nachos.  oh yeah!)

10.23.18
(stridin' home from kindergarten drop off
with this handsome fella)

10.24.18
(late October outdoor reading and parking?
I'll take it!)

10.24.18
(and we finally got to do a campfire dinner - it's been a long,
hot, dry, breezy summer!)

10.26.18
(we had lots of errands to run this morning, and the reward
for the kiddos was a visit to the train museum.)

10.26.18

10.26.18

10.26.18
(the model trains are the highlight of any trip
to the train museum for all of us)

10.26.18

10.26.18

10.28.18
(Sam's pre-church doodles - that little guy straight up from his
finger just kills me with how cute it is!)

10.28.18
(Blanchard family dinner ended with Gpa and
Sam playing with trains)

10.29.18
(we're blanketed!)

10.29.18
(I think if he wouldn't wake up so stinkin' early he could keep
his eyes open on the walk to school.  But alas.)

10.29.18
(drawing people one day, writing "mom" the next!
Yes, this is Sam's work!)

10.30.18
(6:48 am - he had been out there for a while
but I finally rolled out of bed to see what he was
up to.  "I'm making applesauce with Teddy.
And we're sitting criss-cross-applesauce on the
couch."  Alrighty then.  haha!)

bonus video!

10.30.18
(she really loves to do her homework sheets
and usually wants to complete them in one
sitting early in the week instead of spreading
it out through the week like is suggested in
the instructions)

10.30.18
(making a pile - mostly on their own)

10.30.18
(multi purpose shovel right there!)

10.31.18
(Happy Halloween from Sam and his attempt to
imitate his pumpkin's face)

10.31.18
(more leaf fun on Halloween afternoon)

10.31.18

bonus video!

10.31.18
(I got a wild hair and decided I was going to rake the whole
front yard area into one massive pile.  I did it in about 45
minutes and man was that a great arm workout!  (I was sore
for a couple days after!))

10.31.18
(fall fun at its finest!)

10.31.18

10.31.18

10.31.18

10.31.18

10.31.18

10.31.18
(after trick-or-treating, we came home and made apple fritters
for a special Halloween dessert treat)

10.31.18
(they looked legit and tasted really good, if a bit on the oily side,
which is to be expected, I guess, when you're home-frying fritters)
